  I went in to try to open a new account and the middle-aged man who 'greeted' me basically shooed me straight out & said that I would need to book in advance and it could take up to 7 days. I know it's possible to do what I wanted online within 15 minutes but I preferred a face to face interaction.

  It took me 20 minutes with out exaggeration to withdraw money from the teller (over 2000).
  
  Absolutely disgraceful service, not to sound self-righteous, but i wasnt even greeted on where to go as there are no more traditional behind-the-glass tellers also as they were all standing counters.
  
  Only after 5 minutes after waiting in the unstructured line at the entrance I was told to go to the "back" there were no signs at all to even indicate this.
  
  During the long and frustrating wait, it was even worse watching the attendant fumble through trying to withdraw cash.
  
  This is the reason why I'm going to leave cba.
  
  Service downhill and at several branches. This is not a Isolated incident.

  How lucky is the Fortitude Valley branch of the CBA to have Megan as its Manager - so refreshing to have a competent person to deal with your business needs - highly recommend to give this branch of the CBA a go as your needs are their priority - Megan assured us all team members are as highly skilled as she is and totally available to assist your enquiries.
  Very unusual these days not to be treated as a number but as a valued customer. Well done.

  Tried to help my 92 year old deaf , one armed, cancer ridden father with a pin for his new debit card . I have a POA for him for ALL financial matters .Told to bring it at the next appointment time to get it registered , which I did . EVEN with the POA they still needed to ring him to ask if the POA was “OK “. Note he is deaf. So bizarre ! It was almost like saying —how to we make this as complicated and as stressful as possible for the client while saying the “ I understand how you feel”. I now have to fly from Brisbane to Melbourne, to assist my elderly parents in order to reduce any stress with the simple act of activating a new card issued due to an expiring date on the old card on an existing account .
  That’s customer service for you !

  At the request of commbank, I came into the branch to confirm my identity but was told it would be over an hour wait to do so I then asked if I could book an appointment for a future time. They didn’t have a single appointment for over a week. I booked in for a weeks time but when I arrived at the time of my appointment yet again I was still was left waiting for over 30 minutes. The bank is hard enough to get to due to its limited opening hours. I have now wasted 2 lunch breaks with still no resolution. I am just left wondering what the point of making an appointment is.
